We’ve been curious for a while about more advanced health testing, especially options that go beyond the usual cholesterol, blood sugar, and vitamin D levels. When we came across HealthieOne, it stood out for one reason: More health measurements than any other tests we have found with only a small amount of blood required, making it perfectly-suited to be a do-it-yourself, at-home test. It uses a Tasso+ or RedDrop device which sticks to your upper arm and collects blood after making a very tiny and painless incision. We’ve used the Tasso device before and we like it. We appreciated that it makes collecting blood at home painless and foolproof.
Review Summary
Quality of Test Results
The results include over 250+ biomarkers, including all standard blood tests and many unavailable in standard panels, analyzed using LC-MS/MS, a gold-standard lab technique for metabolomics.
Ease of Use
From kit delivery to sample return, the process was intuitive and well-documented, and the blood collection using the Tasso+ device was quick and painless.
Scientific Depth
This test goes far beyond routine bloodwork by measuring metabolic intermediates, neurotransmitter precursors, detox markers, and more.
Value for Cost
The test actually provides the best value compared to other health testing services, given the number of health markers and depth and detail of results. This is especially true if you opt for their HealthieOne Complete Duo kit which is for 2 people, and comes out to about $400 per person.
Company Trustability
HealthieOne is run by Gigantest, a CLIA- and CAP-certified lab founded by a former Johns Hopkins professor. Gigantest’s metabolomics technologies are used and trusted by medical institutions worldwide.
Turnaround Time
We got our full results back in just three days, a surprisingly fast turnaround given the complexity and depth of the testing.
Personalization of Results
Each biomarker came with personalized comments from knowledge doctors, making the insights feel relevant and not just auto-generated. They offer live communication with doctors, even though the results are already quite clear.
Amount of Blood Required
Only a very small amount of blood is required to get the full panel, which is unique for a test of this type and is a big reason why it’s perfect as an at-home test.
What is HealthieOne and Who Is Behind It?

First, we looked into the company behind HealthieOne: Gigantest, based in Baltimore, MD. Previous to this venture, their CEO, Dr. Anne Le, was a professor at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institute and Director of their Metabolomics Core Facility. According to their Gigantest website, in addition to providing the HealthieOne tests, Gigantest provides metabolomics services to medical institutions as well. This information is also stated on the Hopkins website, which provided reassurance about the legitimacy and quality of their testing methods.

Given that they process the blood samples in their own lab, rather than sending them to Labcorp, Quest or other commercial labs, it is important to make sure they are certified to perform the work. We were indeed able to confirm their CLIA and CAP accreditations, and from what we understand, these certifications are not easy to obtain and are a stamp of approval for qualified labs.
HealthieOne is Gigantest’s at-home testing service that analyzes a large number of small molecules in your blood. They use a technique called liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to get a deeper look at how the body is functioning. According to the HealthieOne website, their goal is to provide a wide view of your biology: how your body is producing energy, handling nutrients, managing inflammation, and more.
What’s In the Kit?
We ordered the HealthieOne Complete Test directly form their Web site, and paid $475.

Once ordered, we received our test kit via USPS in two days. It included:
- 2 Tasso+ self-collection devices (one to fill each tube)
- Two small blood collection tubes (smaller than we expected)
- A finger-prick lancet (to be used optionally as a backup blood drawing)
- A small styrofoam cooler with 2 ice packs
- 3 Alcohol swabs and 3 bandages
- A specimen return bag
- Printed instructions
- A prepaid FedEx return envelope
What the Blood Collection Process Was Like
It’s important to read all the instructions ahead of time, because there are a couple steps you must do in advance, the night before. We followed the instructions, which asked us to put our ice packs in the freezer and fast overnight and collect the blood sample first thing in the morning. The instructions were detailed and easy to follow, and the Tasso device was easy to use.
Our test subject, we’ll call her “Nancy” to protect her privacy, was a 45-year old woman. She performed all test steps herself, without assistance.

First, Nancy used the heat pads to warm the collection area on her left arm. Using the Tasso device, she was able to get two blood tubes filled in just about 8 minutes total. The instructions do say to tap the tube because this helps to increase blood flow, and sure enough blood did not start flowing until she started taping. The instructions could make that a little more prominent because some people may miss it.
She then followed the packaging and shipping instructions, put the ice packs, and sample tubes in the cooler, sealed everything up in the big envelope, and dropped it off at FedEx that afternoon. Quick in and out. That was smooth…
Overall, we found the process to be straightforward and Nancy said it was painless and she wasn’t even sure the device had worked until she saw the blood flowing after starting to flick the tube. The whole procedure took about 20 minutes from start to finish. It could certainly have been done faster, but we went slow to avoid making any mistakes and to take some pictures.
The Test Results
Turnaround Time

The next morning we received an email confirmation that our blood sample had been received by the lab in Baltimore, MD.
The full results came back three days later. That was quicker than we expected, especially considering how many markers they analyze.
What Was Measured?
HealthieOne reports an impressive panels of over 250 biomarkers, many of which we hadn’t seen on standard panels before or on any other health testing services. You can see the full list below. Some of the ones that stood out to us included:
- Acylcarnitines: related to fat metabolism and mitochondrial function
- Glutathione reduced: reflects antioxidant status
- Citric acid cycle intermediates: involved in cellular energy production
- Neurotransmitter: like those for dopamine and serotonin
- Hormones, like cortisol, testosterone, progesterone…
- Biological age
Some of these markers pointed to things Nancy, our test subject, already had suspicions about, like suboptimal energy or inflammation, which could be caused by the decrease of citric acid cycle intermediates and elevated inflammation markers in her test results. That’s not something she would’ve picked up from her routine doctor-ordered labs.
Viewing and Understanding the Results

The results were presented via mobile device or desktop computer and were organized into categories such as: Female / Male Health, Antioxidant Levels, Kidney Health, etc… See the full list below. Each result came with a number, a reference range, a simple color-coded indicator, a thorough explanation of the importance of each biomarker. The notes weren’t generic, they seemed to reflect the specific combination Nancy’s medical history.
We appreciated that the tone of the report was informative without being alarmist. It didn’t feel like a sales pitch or a scare tactic, it was more like: here’s what’s going on, here’s what might be worth looking into, and here’s why it matters.
Our Takeaways
- We liked how comprehensive the data was, it felt like we were seeing layers of health that don’t normally get checked.
- The testing method (at-home collection, lab analysis) seemed well executed and fast.
- The doctor commentary was helpful and made the data more actionable. The extensive results connected the dots and helped identify root causes of issues.
- This probably isn’t something we’d do every month, but it makes sense as a once a year check-in, especially for tracking progress over time.
- They also offer a follow-up test at a fixed discounted price for any abnormal results from the initial test.
Final Thoughts
✅ Strengths: Trying HealthieOne gave us a different view of health, one we hadn’t gotten from other at-home tests or other health test services. It helped us ask and answer several important questions and consider new areas to focus on. Most importantly, the results revealed a complete picture of Nancy’s health, providing insights that only their extensive analysis and cutting-edge technology could deliver.
If you’re the kind of person who likes to dig into your biology and see what’s going on under the surface, this might be worth trying. We’re planning to do a follow-up test in a few months to see how things change.
⚠️ Drawbacks: :
Although the follow-up test is at a discounted price, it has to be paid separately.
No membership offer.
